Produce for the People

Our Produce for the People program focuses on alleviating food insecurity in our community & creating an equitable, sustainable, and healthy, local food system. By supporting local farmers through the CSA program, Produce for the People works towards climate justice by reducing the miles our food travels before it gets to our plates, cutting down on the high carbon emissions associated with out-of-season produce and non-local foods.

Community Supported Agriculture

Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program has 350 subscriptions in its third year. It redirects local funds to local farms and reduces food miles/carbon emissions. Packing 350+ bags every week takes a lot of hard work! The Produce for the People team always welcomes volunteer help for both packing and distributing the CSA bags. Food Aid Resources

We destigmatize food aid by offering the same food to people from wide-ranging socioeconomic backgrounds. Produce for the People supports over 100 families by providing affordable/free weekly CSA shares. Eastie Farm cares deeply about all of our community members having access to healthy, nutritious foods. Please click below if you are in need of help regarding accessing food.

Events

The Produce for the People team enjoys holding workshops that help our community connect with food. Past events include Make-Your-Own Kombucha, Kimchi, and Sourdough workshops and CSA Dinners made using only foods from the CSA share! Check out our Eastie Farm Calendar for more information about upcoming events from all of our programs.
