Last Saturday we had a great time helping our friends over at the Grace Federated Church with their own food distribution program! People came from across the neighborhood to pick up fresh/frozen meat, canned goods, and dry goods. It’s always good to lend a helping hand to our community.
The Grace Federated Church Food Pantry has been in operation since long before Eastie Farm was established, and we are grateful to be part of their efforts to help the community. In the past, the Grace Federated Church Food Pantry has focused on shelf-stable items, which they keep stocked through donation and purchases from their own funds. In 2022, we were able to pass along a limited amount of produce from our weekly CSA program for the duration of the season, passing along produce left over on Friday to be distributed Saturday mornings.

This year, we were able to secure funding from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources to expand on this support with produce picked especially for the church’s distributions through the LFPA grant! We are so excited to be partnering with them on this important project. Our first delivery for the season will be distributed this Saturday, 1/28, and we will provide continued support for each of their distribution dates for the rest of the season (the first and second Saturday of each month from 10 AM to 12 PM at 760 Saratoga St).
